Our Programs

Nourishing Hope

Providing families with healthy groceries, culturally familiar foods, and essential pantry items. Nourishing Hope ensures no child goes to school hungry and no family is left behind. Through the donation of grocery baskets and gift cards, BDF strives to combat food insecurity in our community.

Nourishing Homeless

Better Days Foundation is committed to supporting Calgary’s most vulnerable community members. Through our dedicated program, we provide nutritious breakfasts and hot meals to people experiencing homelessness, ensuring they have access to food, warmth, and care.

Our initiative goes beyond meals—it’s about fostering dignity, connection, and hope. Each meal is an opportunity to bring comfort, build community, and remind those we serve that they are seen, valued, and supported.

Keys to the Future

Providing school supplies, backpacks, tech access, and learning resources so every child can thrive in the classroom. Keys to Tomorrow helps remove financial barriers to education and fosters academic success towards brighter futures.

Femmes Debout / Women Rising

A program focused on the mental well-being and financial independence of Black Francophone women through culturally relevant workshops, peer support, and coaching. Femmes Debout creates space for healing, growth, and leadership.

Learning Initiatives for Family Transformation

Aimed at empowering low-income families, the L.I.F.T. program offers a range of workshops tailored to address specific needs and challenges faced within our community. Primed on the transformative power of education and skill development, these workshops give families the tools to make sustainable changes in their lives.

Golden Connections

The Golden Connections program supports seniors through culturally rooted food, community bonding, and empowering educational workshops. This initiative creates a safe, welcoming space where seniors can connect, share traditions, and strengthen their overall well-being.

Through interactive sessions, the program helps seniors:

  • Build community through cultural food preparation and storytelling
  • Learn about senior abuse prevention, rights, and available supports
  • Gain confidence in advocating for their safety, wellness, and independence
  • Engage in meaningful social activities that reduce isolation
  • Celebrate their cultural identity while fostering stronger community ties

Better Days Foundation is committed to uplifting seniors with compassion, dignity, and culturally responsive programs that honor their lived experiences.
